@nirvan5a Man look at 2:02, I counted at least 1 shot each second, easy 20 rounds a minute
grandfather of current sniper rifles.
@Jaahaah lol what kind of sniper could shoot like that. i mean its not game, its real life gun.
The US develop the first radio control airplane in WW2. We could have research all of the thing German had but we chose not too. Reason is simple. We got the weapon that change the world forever.
@jackzero99 You are wrong about the RPG. The RPGs are design on the panzerfaust and the American M1 Bazooka. Round of panzerfaust and range of Bazooka.
@anh571 yes but the Americans invented the first Battle rifle, the B.A.R. or Bad Ass Rifle lol
@jc1200u no the panzerfaust came before the bazooka
@peanutking242 Mosin nagant is just best known for it's mass production for the red army and movies...

Amazing the Germans developed the first operational...RPG aka Panzerfaust...and so many more revolutionary weapons. .
jackzero99...
The Germans invented the Panzerfaust?
You can correct me if I am wrong but I believe the Panzerfaust is pretty much just a copy of the American Bazooka...The bazooka was invented by a US Army Officer and the German Army pretty much copied that idea and developed their own versions of the bazooka for their soldiers
10 rounds a minute my snow white ass, more like 25-30 rounds a min
arrogant yanks
@LordBifford I don't know whether countries can sue each other, but I'd say Mauser could have sued Springfield, no? I don't really know anything about that, then or now. And good point about settling that score =D
@PARR53 Indeed, you're right, I see where they're getting 2,700 fps now, I spoke too quickly, without watching the rest of the series. Thank you for the enlightenment, though the criticism of putting the Springfield on here at all still stands! I also see now that they DO indeed have the M1 Garand here, again hasty speech on my part.
@Fallout3Follower Actually, Germany produced the first SMG too. It was called the MP18 for the trenches of the First World War. It saw limited use though...
@jackzero99 Yeah, Germany did make a ton of stuff. Seems like they started it, but other people had more fame. Like the SMG (USA with Thompson), Rifle (USA with M1 Garand). Either way, it's amazing how many things they got right. Im still suprised they did as well in WWII. Freedom shall prevail, eh?
@jackzero99 I read some news articles that said that American soldiers fighting in the mountains are indeed having problems with their medium-range guns. I can't give you precise figures like that.
@LordBifford The sound strategy when you're fighting a large scale war against the USSR, USA, and GB is to have automatic weapons. When you have 5000 Russians charging at you, would you rather have a team of snipers or a couple of MG42's?
@LordBifford I doubt they're making 1000 yard shots and the Afghan War is nothing like WWII. Offer those Taliban or American soldiers a bolt action rifle or an M-16 or AK-47 and see which one 99% of them choose.
@ImWatchinTheTube Lots of countries were ripping off the Mauser because it was so good. Can countries sue each other for patent infringement? Oh well, Germany did have two occasions to settle this score with America. ;)
@jackzero99 I hear in the mountains of Afghanistan, Taliban fighters are picking off Americans with their old WW2 rifles. The M4 was made for short-range encounters.
@jackzero99 Sound strategic thinking is what really counts, not technology.
@ImWatchinTheTube by the way I am a huge fan of both the 30-06 and .308 round. The 30-06 being a 63mm case does have greater power potential as you mentioned. Although unless you handload very few manufactures utilize that extra case capacity. A full power 06 round with modern propellants can approach the bottom end loads for a .300 Win Mag in terms of muzzle velocity/energy. Out of M1 I never shoot anything but milsurplus though. Out of my M1903 though thats a different story. lol
@ImWatchinTheTube That was the original ammo issued with the M1903 it used powder that wasnt as efficient for the long case. The M2 ball ammo issued with the M1 Garand and M1903 later on puts out 2, 834ft/s at the muzzle. Its just the evolution of this things with time. Thats why we eventually went to the 7.62 Nato ball round for awhile because with the newer propellants that were coming out in the 50's you got practically identical ballistics out of a much shorter case. Less brass=less cost.
LOL!!! The .308 has 2,799 fps and the .30-06 has 2,700!? What a load of shit, the .30-06 (7.62x63) has 12mm more cartridge capacity than the 7.62x51NATO! And what the fuck is up with having the Springfield on this list anyway? It's just a copy off of the Mauser G98, I think we even got sued for it ffs! Why wouldn't they have put the M1 Garand here, the first standard issue semi auto for any army? |
